ROSY PEACH

ASOS crop top, Topshop skirt, Nine West flats

I have been struggling to find time to fit everything in the last couple of weeks or so, and couldn't be more thankful that the mid-semester holidays are here. However that also means that there are only 4 official uni weeks left to the year, which is a horrifyingly scary thought, no? In any case, here's an outfit post before I trot off to catch up on sleep.

Quickly snapped these shots last week in the short time between the Wittner MSFW Runway and running off to a rehearsal, which explains the little canvas bags. There was no escaping the charm of this skirt once I got my hands on it in Topshop London a couple months back. The bright red, high waist, wide pleats with the perfect amount of flare makes me feel like a little girl in a big skirt when I have it on. I have been wearing it with black over winter, but it started to get a little boring/serious. Besides, I am now loving this rosy peachy colour palette! These flats also add a little textured and printy something to the otherwise block coloured ensemble.

MSFW City Square Runway: Wittner

Wittner put on a spectacular runway show for the audience at City Square. The iconic Australian shoe brand, celebrating it's centenary year in the business, showed that they were surely keeping things afresh. I was hooked, right from start to the very end. The first model peeked out and boogied down the runway in neon pink heels. That's right, dancing models! (Or modelling dancers. Perspective.) We knew we were in for a treat.

Neon Life
Clad in identical blue onesies and neon heels, I was definitely impressed by how they had managed to incorporate a snazzy dance routine onto the runway.

Athletic Attitude
The 'sport luxe' trend has been hanging around for awhile, sneaker wedges that suggest a combination of style and comfort. I certainly was slow in warming up to this trend, but the white ones up there are my fave :)

Pastel Dreams
Soft, feminine pastels are here to stay this summer. Go all out in colour top to toe, complete with cupcakes in hand?

Punk Odyssey
The other extreme - sharp black on black looks punked up with slashed leggings, whips, chains and studs.

Centenary Collection
A glittery shimmery delight as models showed off sequinned evening dresses and a special collection of ten shoes that were handcrafted with Swarovski crystals. These heels in a selection of brights and nudes will be auctioned off in the coming weeks for charity.

Loved the appropriately-themed concepts, that was backed up not only by the shoes but also the careful detail in the rest of the outfits as well as the dance-runway routines as a whole. It was very much a refreshingly engaging performance as it was a platform to showcase the new Spring/Summer collection!

MSFW: David Jones Runway

Melbourne Spring Fashion Week is off to a solid start! City Square has been transformed into fashion central for the week - hair and make-up stations for all are housed within the white tents, even speedy nail bars thanks to Mecca, and of course, the free runway shows.

An eager crowd awaited the start of the David Jones runway at 12pm, which showcased a multitude of Spring Racing outfits. Ladies were presented with an array of brights, pastels, and monochrome while the gents sported sharp suits with a splash of colour. They were also constantly reminded to pay attention to detail and polish their shoes.

FAVE #1
FAVE #2

Top two faves in the whole line-up that I would readily pounce on were the Camilla & Marc neon tangerine swing dress paired with purple and green florals (anyone notice the polka dot heels?), as well as the super sleek Carla Zampatti jumpsuit!

Looking forward to tomorrow already. Feel free to hop onto instagram (@nicoletj) or be tweet pals (@xblankbird) for the latest. Who will I be seeing there? x
